Formed as a partnership with
Balfour Beatty plc and
National Grid to form the North West Gas Alliance in April 2005 with the head office at Worsley and satellite depots throughout the North West.
Our headline target for year four increased to 518km of mains abandonment, once again we completed this with a couple of Km spare. In addition to this we have actions in place to reduce service strikes, cable damage, improve safety performance and raise awareness regarding injuries to staff and members of the public. We are also putting the spot light on best practice and on a Pan Alliance basis we are collating a register of good practice and initiatives.
The North West Gas Alliance has also launched an internal initiative this year “Data Capture via GPS” involving over 30 key individuals from across the Alliance with their task being to think differently about the way in which we capture data accurately. NWGA have year on year reduced 3rd Party damage and Injuries involving our Staff and Members of the public, collectively we are aiming for
Zero Injuries
Zero Interruptions
Zero Non – Compliance
Zero Utility Strikes
2009/10 raises the bar once again, with a target to abandon 540km of Iron Mains, this target combined with restoring supplies to over 50,000 properties has challenged the Alliance to target several other areas for improvement, most notably, customer service, productivity and Utility strike reduction.
